Three days Ngong Hills and Rift Valley

This circuit heads out into the Southern Rift Valley, starting from Ngong Hills. From the Western side of Ngong Hills, you will have a magic view of the Great Rift Valley. Cycling along the Soda Lake Magadi with its spectacular shades of pinks and purples is a highlight.

Day 1 – Ngong Hills, Olorgasilie
You will meet our driver-guide in Nairobi who will drive you to the Ngong Hills. On arrival you will have refreshments and get a safety and technical briefing on how to ride your mountain bike in this terrain. There are various routes with varying challenges and distances. A support vehicle will follow your en route as you adapt to the environment. The camp site for the first night will be the famous Olorgasailie Prehistoric site, where several important archaeological discoveries were made.

Day 2 – Rift Valley, Lake Magadi
After a full breakfast you will have the energy for the ride further through the Rift Vallev. Enjoy some refreshments  breaks at the shore of Lake Magadi which is surrounded by saltpans, which create the illusion of looking at snowfields. It is a paradise for bird watchers from the whole world. You will camp overnight at the Lale’enok South Rift Resource Center. The campsite is nestled under fig trees along the Uaso N’giro River. The perfect place to relax in the shade or to enjoy a plunge into the river. However, watch out for crocodiles!

Day 3 – Rift Valley, Return to Nairobi
In the morning you meet local trackers teaching you the secret of how to track lions. You will continue the ride on your bikes into the heart of the conservation area, spotting giraffes and impalas from of your bike. After a late lunch, you will be picked by a vehicle for the return journey back to Nairobi where you arrive well before dark.
